Doujinshi Scans

I’m aware this subsection in my blog is one big mess. I’m writing this page in English because I think the number of non-Spanish speakers who visit it is comparatively bigger; you don’t really need to know that much Spanish or English to actually navigate this section, but there’s a couple of things I’d like for visitors to know.

These scans are from my doujinshi collection. There’s mostly Sengoku BASARA, but I have some Togainu no Chi, Tennis no Oujisama and Katekyou Hitman Reborn titles, along with other DJs from videogame fandoms. If these files are up in my blog, that’s for you to download them; I just ask a couple of things. First, please don’t hotlink, for the files are stored in a private domain that hosts pages and websites of three different people apart from me. I wouldn’t like to cause them any problem because of bandwidth issues. And lastly, I’d ask of you not to reupload these scans to sites that restrict access or require members to have a certain number of points to download images/files. I’ve uploaded these scans in a free basis and for everyone to download them, and I’d like it to be kept that way.

But what’s a doujinshi…?

Put it simply, a doujinshi is a self-published work; the term itself (同人誌) refer to self-published mangas or novels. But among doujin works we have PC games, collectibles (fun goods), art collections… and so on. Most doujinshi are the work of fans or amateurs artists, but there are some mangaka (manga writers/illustrators) who self-published their works in this fashion, too. And likewise, they’re some doujinshika (doujinshi artists) who’d become professional mangaka; it’s been said that the famous group CLAMP is a good example.

Though they might cover any genre, we mostly know about them because of the doujinshi based on manga, anime, videogames and practically any other preexisting title. If you wonder if those don’t incur in copyright laws… Then the answer is “yes”. But you could compare doujinshi activity to our fanfiction and fandoms works: DJ artists don’t try to profit, selling their works mostly through a few well-known stores or at cons, and at low prices that cover production costs only. Prices that, unfortunately, are way higher for fans trying to get said doujinshi overseas, but that’s another story…

Ratings and genres

Practically all doujinshi titles I have in my collection are yaoi (BL or slash: works depicting homosexual male relationships), and many have strong ratings. I try to provide a rating for every title I have for download in this blog by using the MPAA movie rating system, which is widely known for people devoted to fandoms I think. You can check the ratings here.
